If Cranborne beat Allendale, the Cranes win it. If Allendale beat or draw with Cranborne and win their other 3 games they will win it. If Chickerell drop any points in their last game they will finish behind Cranborne. If they win and Cranborne lose Chickerell would finish two points clear of Cranborne. If Allendale only draw with Cranborne but win their other 3 they will finish top despite Chickerell's last result.
Clear as mud, eh?

We are waiting to hear from the DPL exactly what needs to be done and when by.
It's being worked on to make sure we do go up.

So Is it a case of you still having to meet criteria before you can go up? Will Swanage go up instead of you if you dont meet the criteria?
I wouldnt of thought the DPL would have relegated anyone due to teams leaving, So will it either be yourselves or swanage to go up?
Thanks

I am led to believe that only two teams (Hamworthy - Wessex 1 and Shaftesbury - Wessex 2) will be the only teams leaving the DPL so there are two places up for grabs for the two highest teams in the DSL with the right criteria. Should be Cranborne and Swanage. Good luck.

Oh thats interesting I was led to believe that Holt and Ham Rec were going to Wessex 2 & Sherborne & Gillingham to go to the western league.
But If you are right wont it be three teams considering that the DPL was a team short?

The last rumour I heard was that Sherborne had not been accepted into the Western League (not sure why)and I was always under the impression that Gillingham had applied for Wessex 2 - but that's the grapevine for you!

I spoke to people from Holt United and Steve Norman the Shaftesbury boss at the weekend. The story I got was that only Hamworthy United and Shaftesbury were leaving the DPL.
The reasons why the other teams weren’t going into Wessex or Western weren’t really clear. I got the impression though that a lot of the grounds had been judged by Wessex league as how they stood now, not maybe after work that was due to be done by next month. Maybe all it will do is delay the inevitable until the following season.
As for DPL next season, I have heard nothing official about their plans. With the two teams going to Wessex and the late withdrawal by Weymouth Sports last season, there should technically be room for three teams, but I can’t really see three going up, purely because of facilities. Maybe they will only promote one, to at least even numbers up?
Time will tell as they say!

But surely teams like Holt Poole Borough etc must give at least a years notice before they leave. In which case if they are going 05/06 why not just let 3 teams up now and give them a year to udgrade their ground? For Cranborne thnk they can meet criteria swanage already can so why not?

The reasons that only Hamworthy and Shaftesbury are leaving for the wessex, I believe, were basically, that Dorset wouldn't let them leave until they at least have the correct facilities for either Wessex or Western leagues. Gillingham however, must feel a bit let down, as Wessex league said that they would let them into the league providing that they had lights put in, which is acctually starting in June, but Wessex have now back tracked and said that, that was too late.

Similarly Holt. Their Chairman said they are due to install their lights in June.

So if Holt and Gillingham are leaving next season then it should make sense to promote 3 teams No?

No real argument from me. As long as the team were worthy of playing in the DPL I wouldn't have a problem, as long as they committed to having everything in place facility wise by the end of next season at the latest.
Whether the DPL see it that way is an entirely different matter.
