A couple of months now into the season and the league is starting to show a sign of the real title contenders. Weymouth res are surely favourites to win it now with there unbeaten start, any thoughts? Those that have already played them are they that good?

You can't argue with Weymouth's results, they are certainly up there on merit. I had a fancy for Ham Rec before the season started though and still have a feeling they might do it. They have a better squad than ayone else and will cope better than most when injuries and suspensions start to kick in.
Holt and Chickerell (they could regret that 3 point deduction) could also challenge. I'm a bit surprised at Poole Borough's bad start, but I think they have enough quality to challenge as well.
Swanage seem to have hit a sticky patch, I'm not sure they have the squad depth anyway. Westlands could have an outside chance.
It's interesting but my money stays on the Rec.

Agree Think Ham Rec will be up there, dark horses Holt just behind Westlands and Boro. Dont think Weymouth will last due to the turmoil with the first team... But what I want to know is who TB thinks will the league. Obviously Cobham will still be in the mix, just wondered why we havent had any Cobham match reports recently or updates on the lastest wessex league reserve team substitute they've signed?

did the last post just say cobham will be in the mix? joking arent you they are poor. if we won our games in hand and didnt have our 3 points deducted for bringing someone on whilst 5 nil up we would be 2nd. we are appealing. poole borough aint all that and i have heard holt arent too special but obviously wey reserves are decent and also so are ham rec dunno about westlands. will wey resys keep the same team all year?? basically like most recent years its the same old faces up there or there abouts apart from portland not being quite as strong this year and wey resys comin in and having a good start. i would say cranborne definately wont win it though

Cranborne couldn't buy a win anywhere ! Stur to beat them by 4 goals. Still "better than the last few results"
C'mon Chairman when are you going to do something to stop the rot?

I wasn't at the match but I did hear that it could have easily been 5 or 6 against rec! I'm sure that's what your manager said as well! But let's face it these things happen and it's about bouncing back. Looks like a lot of teams will beat each other this year anyway.

Earley days yet surely?
the good thing to remember is that the dpl league seems a a lot stronger this year than last season. Last season , in my opinion was good to watch . There are some bloody good players that could play in a higher standard if they so wished. That aside , from the teams i have seen so far this season , ham rec play good football, poole boro , play good football , i have not had the pleasure yet of watching weymouth , for me there is your 1 , 2 , 3. n.b. footballing sides ! As they say, cream always floats to the top! not in any order but , if one of those teams won the title , happy days !

i didnt say they werent better on the day it could of been more like 8 or 9 not 6 or 7 and we were far from best but in this div its about who turns up on the day most the time. And we played 3 at back which didnt work at all. enough excuses we will push on now but i would say poole borough will not win the league too many losses already! up the chicken drumsticks!

if we won our games in hand and didnt have our 3 points deducted for bringing someone on whilst 5 nil up we would be 2nd. we are appealing. You have got no chance whatsoever of winning that appeal. Believe me, the secretary will make sure you don't win because it may ultimately affect the chances of his beloved Boro if common sense and justice were allowed to prevail.

You won't get away with playing a player that is not signed on whether you are 5 up or 5 down mr chicken! Everyone else understands the rules and if there is a mix up within your club then your club should be punished. That could turn out to be 3 massive points come the end of the season. Your results so far prove you will be up there but that could really cost you.

reading through the forums, everyone seems to be slating Stur Marshall, except for holt in the first game of the season we have not lost by more than one goal, with most deciding goals being scored within the last 5 mins if not the last minute! now I am not saying we will win the league but stop stating that we will get smashed when we have been unlucky not to get a result against most teams that we have played this season !

I agree, Boro are just as deluded stating they will win the league as they are stating we will be bottom, in fact they were lucky to scrape past us at the start of the season with a spawny winner. ask the teams who have played us and they will agree, we will not be bottom, not even bottom 3, our aspirations are higher than that. ask blandford for example, their manager told us they had robbed us last week for the 1-1 draw. And as for Boro, Holt are twice the side you are and clearly there are other teams far better than u also, such as Ham rec, Chickerell and Weymouth. Start chirping about how godlike you are when you start smashing everyone. until then shut up and let the football do the talking!
