As you know we do not usually comment, but what Rrys resonated somewhat.
Point 1. You will be surprised by who actually uses this forum and furthermore surprised by the identity of some of the assortment of "..... " who post the garbage you refer too
Point 2. You make an excellent point regarding quality and content of this forum especially given the season which has just taken place. If you or any of the users have any constructive views on how we can improve the forum and make it more user friendly please let us know. We are more than happy to create a thread dedicated to this.
We want this forum to be as interactive and possible without, the personal, unsubstantiated, libellous diatribe that this forum is often associated with.
It is a forum and it will be full of people with their own opinions and indeed their own agenda there is no getting away from that all you need to do is browse any number of premier league club's forums to find posts of a similar nature to those that appear here. However we are committed to make the forum usable as possible.

I don't have much interest in the Premier League, so have not sampled any of their forums, but there are some notable non league ones where abuse does not reign - one in particular gets close attention from the moderators if the mark is overstepped. I recognise that the difficulty is often finding volunteers to moderate - a pretty thankless and time consuming task. I have had cause to dip into the forums of the Spartan South Midlands, South West Peninsula and Sussex Leagues over the past year, and all contain a much better level of comment than we do here. The difference, I am sure, is the need to register in order to post. I was disappointed that the attempt to go that way with this forum was defeated when nobody was prepared to register, and the forum dried up for several weeks until you gave in. At the end of the day, it is up to the users which way a forum goes, but I would have thought there were enough DPL participants and supporters to permit a vibrant discussion between those who are prepared to be registered, and as a result become a bit more responsible for what they post. Please feel free to turn this discussion into a new thread if that seems appropriate - threads on here seem to drift well off topic on a regular basis! Oh, and the worst thing about this forum is the ridiculous software that takes perfectly acceptable words, and even people's names and inserts "bleep" or "please don't type that" in place of parts of the word that the software finds unacceptable - that is complete nonsense and totally patronising.
