Why have Stur Marshall & Stourpaine withdrawn from the DSL?

Both couldn't fulfill fixtures as low on numbers.
Sad, but a little surprising with stur, they still have a reserve team running in Dorset 4. rule used to be if not now, was if u pulled a team out you should keep 1st team and fold 2nd but maybe it's exceptional circumstances.

It's a shame seeing clubs that have been around for years struggling to survive due to lack of player commitment. I agree that always used to be the rule, but glad that FA have been sensible and allowed to scrap their first team. It would not benefit anyone having a team that was out of their depth getting whooped each week just for the sake of rules. This way will keep more participants involved in grass roots and keep the leagues competitive. Hope both clubs can sort themselves out between now and September. Good luck to all |
