I watched todays match and Hamworthy went 3-nil up in ten minutes and look like they were going to slaughter the young side.
When the Poole manager quickly changed the formation and changed a player, and they dominated the game scoring 4 classy goals.
what a good bunch of youngsters he has there, all that junk about are they good enough for senior league, beleive me they are a good outfit, i know its pre-season but they just come back from 3-nil down win against this years favourite's to win the DSL, who fielded a different side each half and they fielded a lot of last years first teamers and this years.
Mike Glavin looked good as did Gary Morris.

I am a follower of local football and a neutral, I was also at this match, but I see that you fail to comment on the fact that Mr Jackson wanted to abandon the match after about 20mins, blaming a young referee (who was probably a bit nervous) and not the fact that his side were 3-0 down, and I see that you also fail to mention that the side that Hamworthy put out in the second half didn't look like they had as much commitment as the side that played in the first half. I don't believe Mr Jackson's changes altered the game, Hamworthy's changes did. Poole Town will hold thier own in the senior league, but I think it will be a couple of seasons before they are strong enough to win it, providing they can keep this side together!!!

I was also at the match, as my son plays for Hamworthy he played the second half with senior players. I saw the incident that conerned the Poole Town manager, the challange on Leigh Mitchener was a bit horrendus, two players charging into him, on the day I was bias, but i will admit when he was lying on the ground i was concerned for him it was a unfair challenge. Also the penalty was 3 yards outside penalty area, however the referee gave it as he was surrounded by the Hamworthy players. I was standing level with the 18 yard line when it happened, it was defeniately outside. The ref was very young and missed things on both sides. As to your comment about changing the formation, we would have increased our lead, however once Their manager did they scored within 5 minutes and missed a penalty...then came out second half and beat us fair and square. So he did make a tactical change at least give him some credit. At the end he went straight to the referee and had a chat with him, my son heard him say to the young ref to make his own decisions and stick with them and not to be influenced by players appeals. UP THE HAMMERS.......................................Gooooooooaaaal

The challenge, I don't think was that bad, the ball was there to be won, Mr Mitchener is known for his injuries, and what about the penalty that wasn't given to Hamworthy, probably because the ref was a bit afraid of what stick he may get!!! I don't disagree that a tactical change on thier part helped them, but Hamworthy's second half team didn't exactly put up a fight. Did They?

why dont you just except it we were beaten fair and square, Poole have a good young side.
Tell me this if he had'nt made the change, we would have had a hat full of goals.
Last year Lee MItchener served us well, i dont remember him having too many injuries.
The trouble with you is that you cant except defeat, they beat our first team and now our reserves, Just except it, its only pre season.
DONT BE A BAD LOSER. IF WE HAD WON YOU WOULD NOT EVEN HAVE BOTHERED TO REPLY.
ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT GIVE US GOOD HAMMERS SUPPORTERS A BAD NAME.
MY SON PLAYED IN THAT GAME, AND HE TOLD ME THE SECOND HALF SIDE HAD MANY PLAYERS FROM LAST YEARS FIRST TEAM. WE GOT BEAT EXCEPT IT.
YOU ARE A SORE LOSER. GIVE CREDIT WERE IT IS DUE.

Martin Clark was the only player in that second half who was regularly in the first team last year. You obviously didn't warch many games last year as Leigh Mitch didn't play for about 40% of the games due to injury. And i'm not saying Poole were bad, Hammers second half were poor! If The Hammers play like that, YES they were and deserved to be beaten! I don't disagree.

rumour has it that Poole Town have been approached by two players who played in the game, wanting to leave Hamworthy and go to poole.
