It will be a great shame for the DPL to lose the two best sides by a country mile from their league. Weymouth to the Wyvern league and Rec to the Wessex. With Poole Towns impending move the council have recvieved a request from Rec to use the Tatnam facility while ground upgrades are made at Magna Road. Can you blame these two forces for seeking new challenges?

I think it has been long over due that Rec have a go at a higher level, great record in the DPL and now have three wealthy silent backers for the club who would like to see the club go forward,Tatnam isnt ideal but until the work at Magna road is completed common sense is to use the facilities vacated by Poole Town,be interesting to see what players they go for( if any) for there assult on the wessex league next year!?

Can't blame them, especially Rec. I understood that they couldn't put lights up at Magna Road although I may be wrong!

I dont think Rec will go up, for one they like being a big fish in a small pound, and for two I dont think they are up to Wessex standard.

My dad works for the council and says he saw Pat Notleys Black Range Rover down the Civic Offices last week so there is no smoke without fire. With 3 weathly backers..........their 5 year plan is to follow the model of Crawley Town.

Shame Where did you get the info from? Weymouth Res only been in league one season. You are suggesting Tatnam would be used as an interim solution but not a long term venue for their fixtures only until Magna Road upgraded. How are Ham Rec going to upgrade facilities with a cricket pitch sharing ground? They going to shorten the boundary a bit or what?

It is true Ham Rec will be the new tenants on Tatnam farm for next season at least.Sky reporter if you knew the Wessex League well you would know that Lymington Town share there ground with A cricket club,as do Bashley Fc from the Southern League so Rec have nothing to worry about for the next couple of saeson at least!

To BULL. If Rec have the ambition the Wessex league will welcome them with open arms. They are good enough and with the money injection will improve again. The manager has a good network of players and is friendly with Killick and Powell at Poole and Wim plus has other connections plus his assistant knows the league from previous experience. Wessex watch out.

As I am now an electrical contractor with a lot of contacts and jobs flying in I would be willing to be a backer financially, and not a silent one! Rec have a good club with good players and will only move forward from here! The manager and his assistant have their finger on the pulse in the local game and I for one could see a good return on my money,up the rec!

Chris My point was that although some teams share their facilities with cricket club the dynamics of the pitch at Magna road and its layout and proximity to the cricket pitch surely make it difficult to install floodlights and stand etc and I am interested to know how they will overcome these issues. With Poole Town looking to move grounds would Tatnam be seen as a long term solution?
I am delighted that Ham Rec are willing to take the opportunity to move onwards and upwards, good luck to them fed up of getting stuffed by them.
Bull Grow up.

Fact is rec will get hammered with the team they have! the gap between the leagues is huge! They would need to sign a lot of better players to stay in that league

are you forgetting Rec could only go to Wessex 1 not the Premier league No one is suggesting they would live with the likes of Poole Town but Ringwood and Verwood why not.

I am glad Ham Rec are moving to the wessex league, they would finish top 5 in the wessex 1 with the team they have and with a couple of new players they would win it.
I reckon a top 8 Wessex Prem side within 3 years. You never know they could end up picking up a few Christchurch players as they are not paid.
Good luck to the Rec!

In response to the above comment i think Danny is the one on the wind up,as secretary of Hamworthy Recreation I have been to two meetings with the council and Wessex league representatives with both finishing with positive outcomes, why are people bad mouthing our club and intentions when we are just trying to progress?

Was at work conference today at Ham Rec club and saw Rec boss, his assistant and seceratary with Eddie Mitchell. Know one alledged backer and this person has ties with Mitchell. AFCB use Recs facilities so if they can be upgraded mant things are falling into place. Good luck to them. Best team in league.

Hi Ray i would not be too interested in what people say on here mate, this is just a slagging site for all those people who can not play football and want to try and ruin what others are trying to do.
Good luck to Ham Rec from everyone connected with Poole Borough FC, hope you do get into the Wessex League.

With the money input and extra time demands it has been mutually agreed that Gareth Daniel And Chris Hayes relinquish management roles at the end of this season. Kempy from Xchurch has applied and is likely new manager. Daniel has close ties with Darren Powell at Wimborne and is likely to manage their reserves in Wyvern league with Hayes. Let's finish this campaign as champions and look to the future.
