Who do you think are the DPL legends ? reckon that Kev Leonard, Darren Elmes & Crispin Rigler from Ham Rec should be in there. Gibbo also, Fooksie & my old mate Ian Kelly from Cobhams. :

THE DPL HAS SOME VERY GOOD LOCAL PLAYER'S YES BUT NOT LEGENDS!!!!CURRENT HAM REC PLAYERS ARE MENTIONED BUT SURELY NOT IN THE SAME BREATH AS THE TEAM IN THE 90's.....KEVIN LEONARD APART,NONE OF THESE PLAYER'S WOULD MAKE THE BENCH.....Jeff Eaton,Roy Terry,Mark Watson,Mike Davis,Paul Stevens,Rik Hooley,Dave Mabey,Neil Miles,Chris Foster,Steve Mulcock,Mike Radburn...........Thats a programme ive dug out and as you can see its much stronger..I could go on to the REAL legends of Parley then you would see REAL CLASS...So please drop the word LEGEND

Neil Webb never played for Stur and Fereday was hardly a legend for Stur.
Big bad Mozzy was though

Have to agree with Groundhopper that NONE of the Ham Rec players past or present are legends compared with some of the Parley All Stars over the years. Interestingly although they certainly took the DPL by storm as a team in the 90s, as individuals very few shone or even featured at Wessex League level. By contrast the Parley legends would definitely have graced such a league (had it existed) and probably even higher at Southern league level at their peak.

Quite agree DPL observer even tho Mark Watson played some games 4 Dorch in Southern league then many 4 Wimborne. Neil Miles,Roy Terry,Mike Davis and Chris Foster played many season's at Poppies...I also see that Foster also made numerous appearences 4 Poole Town in the Southern League.Mike Radburn also played at that level 4 a short time..Jeff Eaton and Rik Hooley also played at Poppies...But rest assured my homework also show's me that there IS or NEVER will be any team like PARLEY ever again..CLASS last's FOREVER..........

Did any of you ever play at Parley? Do you remember the unicycle in the bar after the game? Great times.

No, if you check the records you'll see that none of the aforementioned played "many" seasons at Poppies. My point though was that when they did play (for fairly short periods) they didn't particularly shine, unlike when they all joined forces at Ham Eng....and Poppies weren't very good at the time either !!
