Agree that Ham Rec and Westland will contest the title, having seen swanage i don't think they will do as badly as people think no-one enjoys playing at their place and really they are playing catch up with the new manager only taking over recently.

I agree with the last post, you can't tell anything from 2 games played. On Saturday I saw Stur v Holt and I thought Holt looked quite good even though they lost. On tuesday I saw one half of Ham Rec V Ham Utd and one half of Parley v Poole and out of those four teams I thought Parley looked the better footballing side but they couldn't put the ball away. I thought Jamie Moors looked awful (for hes own standard) for Rec but he will probably finish top scorer of the season. So basically I'm saying anything could happen this season and I think thats brilliant for the DPL.

So what's the deal with Bridport Reserves then? Doesn't seem to be a much different team yet someone previously has quoted that they will finish top 5!! Have they really improved THAT much??

I was only saying that Westlands and Ham Rec would contest from what I have seen so far and how last season finished up. There are 3 or 4 teams I think will push them........ Likes of Holt, Chicks, Swanage, Stur Marshall but certainly not Bridport Res has posted earlier in somebodys top 5

The title will be between ham rec and westlands,it seems as if alot of teams have got weaker including us. Parley look alot weaker and will definately struggle along with swanage who have lost all there players so the bottom of the table will be tight

Was there to see our new signing Paul Foley elbow Moores so both could have walked. We had one shot on goal in 90 minutes while ham rec had lots so no gripe about result. If someone finishes above rec they will win the league. The rec bench was littered with top players so they are strong and they had lads missing. Only a matter of time before we start winning games though

Agreed with a bench of Ryan Lucas Sam Hollidge Ricky Waldren Tom Vavrecka and one lad I didn,t know it sends a message. Those players would walk into most DPL sides

I think Holt could be a team to watch this year, good result against a strong Westlands side and they look better than last year! If they get a bit of luck on the way I can see them finishing 4th

Holts best player is touting himself to other clubs again, money has stopped and the manager is on the brink of walking out. Great result yesterday so hats off to the boys but it won't be sustained. Against top sides the lads can put in a performance but remember a week ago they were dumped by Stur Marshall who without being disrespectful are not a top side. The reserve side have seperate sponsership and are run totally seperately such is the ill feeling at the club. A certain big headed forward always upsets the camp so not all sweet smelling roses at the club. Steve Norman will step in when it goes pear shaped and is already speaking to players.

I watched stur marshall play wincanton, and they looked exactly the same as last year, wincanton were cruising to be honest at 3-1 untill one of there defender scored a own goal , shocking one at that, i do have a question though, the referee awarded stur marshall another penalty which was clearly not, the lad put the ball on the spot, and everyone was shouting to the ref to have a word with the linesman, and the linesman said it defintley not a penalty. so the ref reversed his decision ?? is that write, the first goal for wincanton was a screamer, 2nd goal , what on earth was the goalie doing, and 3rd was a great individual run from the striker, who does look a good player. stur marshall are not a bad team to be honest. good game.

Sounds like the referee has made a blunder. Marshall will do alright this season and probably finish higher than last season and have already proved they can cause a shock but are Holt a top side? No they are not. Will have a say in where the title ends up though as again on their day can be very good. Open league with several title contenders and some clear whipping boys.
