It looks like this season is almost over, and Ham Rec have deservedly won the league. But it would be interesting what people think about the season in general. Like the player of the season, young player of the season, manager of the season, surprise team of the season, even dirtiest player of the season. It would be interesting to see what other people think and it would be nice if people didn't just put players from there own team but perhaps someone they played against.

Not quite over yet but yes Ham Rec do look like they will win it.
Players/teams/managers is always difficult as someone might have had a blinder against one team but not another but........
Team - Ham Rec (long time unbeaten)
Manager - Ham Rec's (Garth??) same reason as above and has good players anyway but he has managed to get them to stay/ come play for Rec in his first season, no money paid either from what i understand?
Player - The lad upfront - Ford at Blandford has to be a shout, very good goal scoring record for a team like Blandford, no disrespect intended Blandford.
Surprise team - Swanage (there manager has turned them around over last couple of seasons) or chickerell (another good season considering not been in the league long)
Young player - Don't know there names but a couple of very good young players from Holt (possibly play on the right or up top)
Dirtiest - No idea and not bothered, im sure some people will post on here names that have probably had them in there back pocket and didnt like it, generally sour grapes!
Again all this my opinion

Thanks for the recent posts as its good too see a good non slating posts being put on here. Westlands have been the quiet team all season but are a very decent all round team and the striker is far too good for this league. So the other end of the scale who / what team has been the pits this season and have under achieved after all the preseason final position predictions that were being put on here?? Again just a honest post asking for decent replies thats all..

Obvious choice is Poole Borough. Large budget, lots of hype and looking to finish 5th at best. When will they learn. On the previous thread The Rec team and manager deserve the plaudits. Young player, wincanton fwd. Disrespectfull and hard to name dirtiest

The big under achievers have to be Stur Newton.

i see many people think wincanton are there surprise team can you tell me why as they finished 8th last year and look to me as they will finish 9th this season thats not an improvement, holt 3rd last season could be 4th or 5th this year, but the biggest let down has to be Poole boro r/up to possible 6th or 7th and yes of cause stur newton we all know the problems there..........blandford a big pat on the back to you,but best team has to be swanage possible 3rd and cup winners congrats..

I'm not sure why anyone would pick Blandford as their surprise team as though they deserve a pat on the back for finishing what - 12th, 13th? What on earth is surprising about that? You may as well pick Stur Marshall and congratulate them on finishing mid table.
Swanage have done very well, as have Chickerell and, of course, Ham Rec. Out of that lot perhaps Chickerell were the surprise package. I have also bben surprised at how poorly Poole Boro have done, I expected them to be pushing for top 3.
Stur Newton have had a shocker. Anyone know if new teams are coming in to the league? Will SN be relegated?

Why have Poole borough done so bad this year, thought they would be challenging for the title this year?

I think you can give credit to Stur Marshall! A team that was falling apart at the end of last year and finished with less than 20 points. First season with a new manager and up to 41 points!! I don't think there are many teams in the league with that sort of improvement!!

think u have to hold your hands up to ham rec only losing once and int he way they have done it deserve to win the league so congragts to them!!! chickerill have done well aswell done well to get second!! poole b have been dissapointing really and have gone backwards a bit but i think the league has been stronger this year.... parley have done well cup semi and a mid table finish is a good achievement with a young squad and swanage finishing bottom 2 years ago and now strong possibilities of a third place finish and a fantastic cup final win against westlands 3-0 really shows what there all about i was at the game and second half swanage were brilliant!! a special well done to aaron corby on his final hat-trick

Well starting with hamworthy rec great season. Poole borough have been very poor and would seem to of had a bad season against last year. Parley have done well in there first season in the dpl. Sturminster Marshall and there manager has taken alot of stick on this site but from 2nd bottom last year to mid table this season and bettering sturs highest points total since they joined the dpl is a very good season for them. Cobham have struggled after all there talk of becoming world beaters! And Sturminster Newtown!! What a bad one for a club with not bad facilities

Massive congratulations to Garthy and the players. Managers 1st season at the helm and the team not only winning the league but doing it playing the game how it should be played. Well done to all involved at the club.
