After watching the game on saturday i think its wrong for people to say stur are a poor side. True they are not upto the same standard as ham rec but who in this league is?? What people forget is stur lost half there squad at the end of last season and had a new manager put in place but yet still take points off the top teams in the league and always seem to work hard whenever i watch them. Good luck catching Ham Rec tho as its their title to throw away now...

stur are poor and rec are a good side but no good building rec up to be wessex world beaters they beat you easily and are a good side stur looked like they have no gameplan who in there right mind would play shane duggan centre mid he cant move no gameplan no idea and yes stur were a hard side to play last season but no more im sure they have been stuffed by other top sides should they all win the wessex league as well!!

We at Ham Rec are not taking anything for granted, we have half a season to play yet and anything can happen, every one has to play each other and if you look at the league, Chickerell have dropped fewer points than anyone. We would not slag off other teams and I thought Stur on Saturday came up against a side who played to their best on the day.

So who else has battered us in the league this season? Our biggest loss before saturday was 3-0 away at Holt first game. Apart from that we have lost to teams by one goal, such as Boro and Portland, and we drew with Weymouth. So where has this idea come from?

well hamworthy are a very good team and have great depth within there squad. As they remain unbeaten i think they will drop some more points but will win this league easily. As for people slating other teams on here and at the moment its sturs turn obviously but when we played them this season we only just scrapped a win from them and this season they currently have the same points on the board as they had all of last season so cant see that its a worse season for them is it?

So weyMOUTH, what's your excuse for not beating us then? If you talk to anyone actually from Boro, they didn't smash us in either game, 2-1 in the league with a last minute goal and the cup game was a flattery at 4-1! Again not saying we will repeat these performances as if we play like we did at rec, as Andy said, we will not be so close. But throwing mud is unnecessary when we do indeed have almost the same points as last season already with not even half of the games gone!

Well before I go to work I thought I'd cheer myself up by having a quick read of this forum. Yes hamworthy are the best team in the league and sturminster Newton are the worst. This is probably because they are ham are top of the table and stur n are bottom (currently). So just to pick up on a couple of points here a swanage player or any other player could look at what points any team has gained during a season due to the use of the Internet and a evening echo!!!!!!!!! And it's about a title race and ham rec will win a overdue title this season and not about what teams are rubbish!!!!!! ?anyway off to work now. GROWUP your all adults!!!!!

weyMOUTH u seem too know a lot of stats too? And if you have a problem with the sad stur manager "we don't care". Anyway like any sports leagues it doesn't matter what or how a team or individual performs because it all counts on the last game to look at the total number of points gained during a whole season doesn't it? And on looking at the recent league table i feel that people are overlooking Chickerell chances and that it may not be won until the last few games of the season which will be quite exciting for all involved

Looking at the table it is pretty much half way through. So lots of points to be played for. For me Chickerell are still the team to watch out for as they have dropped the least amount of points than anyone. I know they have lots of games to catch up on but nobody seems to be taking anything off them. Until other teams apart from the top 2 start getting something then I think they are def the team to watch. I've only seen them play a couple of times this season and although a little lucky they picked up 3 points. A sign of a good team. I also think Westlands, Swanage, Holt, Boro and Weymouth will have a major impact on the title this season. These teams are not out of it yet and with a good run of results especially if they can beat against the so called top teams then I think we will def have 3 horse race. For me Weymouth are right up there as the table shows. Any other sensible views?

As you said only half way through. I think Portland will be right up there although I do admit we will need some luck. We will take points off the big teams and be there until the end. We will finish at least to 4.

I've read all these feeds about the league title chase and afer playing all of the top teams i think that Ham Rec seem to be the team to beat, seeing as on one actually had at the minute. Weymouth are a top team and i also think teams like Chickerell and Westlands will be up there.
I dont play for Sturminster Marshall but have a couple of mates that do and it seems like they are getting alot of stick. Lets not forget that they are a small village team with no real budget doing there best. The noises i hear coming out of Stur is that the Manager doesnt have a clue, most of the players dont want to play for him and do infact want Maitland in charge. I dont wish to blame one player but why is he playing Shane Duggan in the middle.
Why aren't very poor teams like Stur Newton, Cranborne and Cobham sports getting more flack, they offer very little and dont seem to be getting any abuse or slatings.

All of the above are valid facts. The league is a 2 horse race but the overwhelming view of everbody outside of Chickerell is Ham Rec are a far superior side to yours and have the points in the bag.

Yes the chickens are favourites because they have dropped the least amount of points, but they must win all there games in hand of which they have been doing so far. Looking at the fixtures, they haven't played Holt or Westlands yet! Ham Rec have played every team and now Weymouth twice. Do yes the chickens are favourites and everybody has always said they are in the race but they have slot of tough games to play and quite a few away! Including Ham Rec!
