i think the rep managers job should be given to a person of nuetral capacity in the future . someone who has no direct affiliation to one particular club ! this would put an end to favouritism ! i could go on but less is more .

its hard because every manager would probably choose a different team to one another and to have no affiliation would possibly mean no knowlegde of the dpl???? where is the happy medium? i heard the pitch over there was a cowfield full of sand which wouldnt of helped the lads passing ability!

pitch conditions were the same for both sides on the day? I hear that dorset were 2-1 up with ten mins to go , then quick fire injuries to dorset unfortunately made the wheels come off! I would love to know what type of cover was on the bench in case of an emergancy of this type ! horses for courses , you have to plan ahead and adapt . for example matt le tissier took a training session prior to this game did he not ? did dorset do anything similar ? it was the lack of forward planning that cost dorset not, a spate of sudden injuries ! the key to this defeat was norman needed a defender on the bench , a midfielder on the bench a utility player on the bench , res goalkeeper on the bench ,and one a n other ! did he have this personel to call on ? I am sure there are many managers without naming names in dorset football if given the opportunity, would have gone that extra mile and given dorset a pre match coaching session ,prior to the importance of that game like guernsey did with" le god " steve norman cant coach! and like somebody commented the other day ! done for nothing , played for nothing , well i hope guernsey enjoy playing on a proffesional football pitch wherever it may be , and well done to matt le tissier for doing it for nothing !

Everyone would pick a different team, congrats to the Dorset for getting so far. Yes they did have plenty of cover with them. With the Le Tissier comment, what should of he done rung up loads of ex pros " fancy doing an hour training session in guernsey mate". Andy Gray, more like Andy Capp.

Perhaps if Norman took more squad players than "hangers on" then perhaps he would have more to choose from. I suspect there were more clingons than players, living it up the the league expense account. What a joke!

Fact-we had our full quoter of subs 5 on the bench and fact-how many would you have taking 10-15 subs, guernsey only pay for a certain amount to travel which include players 1 to 16, management to include manager, assistant, coach, physio and kit man plus DPL committee members who want to travel.

Oh there is some bitter and twisted people out there, Andy Gray must be some average player who's been overlooked by Normo (what a loser). Normo has done a very good job and taken the rep side further than it's ever been and all us players are behind him, as for people asking about credentials, didn't he take Holt from the depths of Dorset football (div 3) and into the DPL and didn't Pat Notley win the DPL six times, I think that about says it all. Andy Gray and all the knockers GET A LIFE !

To all those defensive players out there who ar sticking their chest out at "such" an achievement, have you ever thought the reason you got so far is that it is actually a very poor standard? Thought of that? Poor rep side in a poor competition and poor opposition...Dont pride yourself and doing so well....you won nothing.......just ponsed about under the dpl banner and played a few games....WELL DONE YOU!

is the rep managers job up for review every season ? are there interviews etc , how does this rep side thing work? dorset lost the semi final ? was that because of a lack of knowledge from norman or lack of preperation from norman , or were the opposition too good that no matter what you did they were always going to win ! it would be great if mr norman or mr notely , his understudy, came on here to justify themselves !

After speaking to someone who was part of the party who travelled, it all came down to poor organisation, not necessarily on the day or the organisation of the trip itself, but from the moment we won in Jersey, from a playing point of view! My informant told me that there was never any training session/training matched organised between Jersey & Guernsey, but to top it all, there was a training session organised for the Saturday morning to which set pieces were ran through, only for Mr Norman to go & change the team after the session & players who had specific jobs within the set pieces were now doing different jobs! Then you had the farcicle substitution with 10 mins to go! 2-1 up with 10 mins to go, you've already lost your two centre midfielders & you then get an injury to your left back, but rather than send your defender on, Mr Norman sends his front man in Lewis Whyton back to centre back & an untried striker in this competition on, when Guernsey apparently have their top five strikers on the pitch! The two centre backs had apparently, not played well together all game, but it was seen as Lewis Whyton was our best centre back replacement! Phil Brown must be wondering whether it's time to hang up his boots! Don't get me wrong, this is not an attack on Lewis, I think he's a very good player & more than capable of playing at a higher standard! This is pointed at the people who think Mr Norman is the right man for the job! Old man, with old fashioned ways, with an old fashioned assistant who thinks going in the bar is far more important than the team he is meant to be assisting. NOT THE RIGHT MAN, SORRY! And no I won't be revealing my informant, but let's just say that there are many players who are questioning Mr Normans application, professionalism & attitude towards this teams progress!

thank you for yor lengthy reply , all things considered , i think mr norman should resign ! lets see who else is out there with different ideas ? do the dorset committee think that a dorset side will always be second best ? i say put the job up for tender next season , lets see who comes out of the woodwork? dorset is , if you think about it , a large catchment area in terms of clubs etc . say as opposed to jersey, guernsey for example . something is massively wrong if dorset cannot get the better of these counties surley . it smacks to me as if its a closed shop ! its time to break the shaccles and let somebody else have a go ! this stranglehold must be broken for the good of dorset football . please excuse my spelling and commas hyphons . some people do not like the truth ! yours in football, andy gray .

no disrespect to phil brown but he shouldnt even be in the team there is far better defenders in the league like sam clarke .hes one of the best central defenders in the league . what about dan welch of chickerell he is solid and would do a good job for dorset ,and as for someone saying about putting lewis whyton at the back hes a better defender than striker and should of started ther in the first place .

Sam Clarke is a quality defender but decided not to turn up for the Sussex game and never let anyone know so would you pick him for the next game big time Charlie springs to mind.
