Posts: 4 Reporter « Thread started on: Today at 3:09pm » <br> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rumours are rife that the troubled reign of Jock Cunningham as manger of Cobham Sports is at an end. There seems to be no official club statement on the managers position although it is understood that the position has been advertised. Sports have endured a poor season for a club of their reputation and if it wasnt for the poor standard of other DPL teams they could have found themselves in a battle with relegation. Choas in the dressing room an discontent among the board seems to be the reason why Cunningham has been dismissed. It is believed that the club are pulling in seperate directions with some of the board trying to eradicate the pub team attitude within the camp and some wanting to keep the emphasis on enjoyment rather than building a successful club. This and farce the it proceds with the signing of players from Poole Borough only to have them leave to rejoin Borough shortly afterwards has left the Cobham board seemingly looking for a change of direction

It has emerged that Jock Cunningham recently sacked by Cobham will in fact stay on until the club secure the services of a new manager. Its unusual for a manager to stay on after he has been sacked but this may suggest that Cunningham himself, resigned from the club to promote his various business interests. In any event it seems it will be only a matter of time before the club appoint his successor which is likely to be none other than Peter Morrell former Poole Borough and Bashley Coach who was sacked himself by Borough in December. Its understood that he will take charge until the end of the season where the situation will then be reviewed.
