Some good old banter on here.
But looking at things in a serious light, it's going to be interesting seeing how things shape up.
We know the reserve teams in any league won't challenge for honours, that's not what they are intended.
But those aside, there are a lot of good teams.
I've seen some cracking games in the DPL so far and a few good lower league friendlies.
It is shaping up to be a brilliant season.
I love this forum. Wish there was more on the senior leagues and down as well.
Well done all involved, especially those teams who go out to attack the opposition. I wish you all well.

Steve coffen tearing that place apart what a Bleep Club legends leaving left right and centre having to rely on pro direct kids to get him out of a hole!!! I hired Rob Andre to manage the reserves, gave him a decent budget to build a side and left him to it. They played 4 games this season and lost all 4, whilst conceding 21 goals in the process. I had to take action so decided to sack him, apparently hes taken over Blandford reserves and they got beat 8-1 by Tisbury today and we won 1-0, seems another masterstroke by myself if you ask me. Andre resigned Coffen, he walked because he quickly saw what everyone else already knew. Your club is toxic and nobody will succeed there. You are the poison in the club and that's why you have lost so many managers and players. Lovely facilities, but underneath its a toxic pile of manure.

Rob was the best coach I've had and best man manager. We didn't have commitment from other players at training. Rob never was going to last as he was not Coffens yes man. He did things his way and Coffen don't like that. He likes yes men. But would play under Rob in future if I can.

Sacked him after 4 games your a good chairman!!. I hear most the good players f**ked off to play for others teams where they are treated well lower bottom half finish you watch I personally know and have been on coaching courses with Rob Andre. He's a bloody good coach and knows how to manage. But he needs time to build a team his way. He is a lover if the 4-3-3 system and, like me he plays a high press, we both did this in our UEFA courses. If he doesn't have players capable he will look for solutions but will always get coaching the players to bring that into the team. Often short term pain for long term gain is the key. Why would a chairman hire somebody who is a long term coach and then sack him after 4 games. Look at the players Rob had to work with, it was horrendous. Yet Coffen blames the manager because he is too short sighted to understand the big picture. Rob, like many others, has sadly damaged his reputation by going to a club like Shaftesbury with no long term vision. And they don't have a budget for reserves, because they care only for first team Shaftesbury is a joke. They've lost good first team managers, and now lost a good guy from reserves in favour of short term views. When players are desperate to leave, you can see its a toxic atmosphere. Its a shame Rob and other managers are too respectful and professional to really lift the lid on the club. They have far more class than Coffen and that poison club. Rob, Uefa course? You must be joking, the only coaching badge he got came from the back of a cereal box

You must be joking, the only coaching badge he got came from the back of a cereal box I actually won it off the back of a packet of Walkers Cheese and Onion Crisps. I enjoyed the crisps and the coaching badge was a bonus. I was messaged by a player to say a load of stuff was on here about Shaftesbury etc. There's some funny stuff on here. All I would say is I enjoyed the challenge at Shaftesbury. I know we tried our best to bring players in and for various reasons that are best kept private, things didn't work out. That happens. I was the wrong person at the wrong club at the wrong time. I don't regret it and I'm not bitter about anything. From what I'm lead to believe some people at Shaftesbury have stuck the knife in upon my departure. I can't control that and so be it, it's not important to me. Life's to short to have regrets. I know I tried to make it work, along with my coaching team, we put a lot of energy into building that team from a standing start, with most players from last season leaving before we had our first training session. I know very well the reasons why it didn't work out. It was always going to take time. That's football. Thanks for the nice comments and equally thanks for the not so nice comments. It's given me a chuckle ππ

Honestly anyplayers reading this stay away the club is toxic holding players against thier will. Chairman even threatened a player on our what's app group offing to call him for a chat when he complained about paying Β£5 for losing 9-0!!! Go play some decent football at senior league level stay away from Shaftesbury they bring you and everyone else around it down!!!

To sum your time up at sfc; the chairman threw you under the bus, you got an absolute pasting every game and then you got sacked so what part of it did you enjoy exactly?

I really liked playing for Andre. If you are a hard working player, good attitude and team player he will put you on the team and give people a chance. But he has no patience for lazy players or players with bad attitudes. He will get you out of the team quickly. He bombed my mate out after 2 training sessions and 30 minutes as a sub in a friendly, he makes up his mind about you quickly, you fit in or you dont. But if you give 100% for the team he will look after you. I've not been to Shaftesbury for the last few weeks. I can't commit to a team now as work has changed. But I can't see any of the Shaftesbury teams doing much. Tisbury seem to be a team on the up and may see them in the DPL next season. The squad are looking good. Stur Newton are also looking good. When possible I'll be watching those two sides, not Shaftesbury.

I don't think Andre is a good bloke to play for. If you don't fit with what he wants he won't give you the time of day. Shaftesbury are much happier now he has gone back to that backward heap Blandford. Good riddance.

After the game he tells me not to bother coming back and to quit football as I'm wasting my time. I am very surprised he has landed another job at Blandford, it won't be long till the players there begin to jump ship.

Coffen is dragging that whole club down and through the mud look at the state of both teams, no wonder Andre walked away before his rep was ruined. I also have it on good authority players who don't want to play for shafts anymore are not being allowed to duel reg by coffen even through the have 52 players signed on shows the kind of vindictive man he is. He should take his huge meat head and somewhere else and let that club be great again!!!
