hcc need to get past electric first in their semi but I gather it is an electric side consisting of saturday boys and sunday reserves. Not sure hcc would have a prayer against electric sunday 1st team. I am told they have not lost a game since Feb 06!

tis true as i spoke to one sparky player who thought the bankes cup was beneath them F*ck off beneath them. No matter how Mickey Mouse the comp is, this is probably one of their only chances to embarass the Dorset League lads. They could really make a point here regarding B'mth v. Dorset leagues. They had a close game with Sandford didn't they? Lions have beaten Sandford! Come on Electric, get your best side out.. or are you scared. Getting the excuses in early!

What a load of bo-l-cks! From what i hear Electric Sunday 1st team never enter this competition because the competition normally starts before they have finished their sunday programme. They play tonight, sunday, next tuesday, add saturday games into this aswell and you get the drift why most of their players don't play. it is not that they can't be bothered, it's that they are knackered.
A fit and full Electric sunday 1st team would beat most Wessex League sides let alone the best of Dorset Sundays. A mate i know who plays for them tells me they beat HCC in a pre season friendly this year comfortably! Don't believe the press about Electric, they are a good honest bunch of lads who have a good management team making sure they play and conduct themselves in the right way.

In a pre season friendly you say. . What exactly is bo-l-cks then? rockmcjock posts that he spoke to a player who said it was beneath them. Is that bo-l-cks? HCC are a good side who have beaten many B'mth Prem teams in the Senior Cup. Is that bo-l-cks? Electric had a close game with Sanford winning only 2-1. HCC have beaten Sandford twice this season. Is that bo-l-cks? It is the opinion of many B'mth Prem players that the top Dorset teams would struggle in the B'mth Prem. Is that bo-l-cks? It is the opinion of the players in the top two Dorset teams that they would NOT struggle in the B'mth Prem. Is that bo-l-cks? HCC were the best in Dorset 1 this season, and Electric were best in the Prem. Is that bo-l-cks?

smu - the point I was making that was bo-l-cks is the fact that Electric do not see the Bankes Cup as being beneath them nor do they see it as a 'mickey mouse' cup, which as these were your words, you obviously do! I am matey with big H and although they are not close mates, I know their is a lot of mutual respect between him and the Electric manager. Not sure who rockmcjocj spoke to but it would interesting to find out so could be bo-l-cks. i have seen mostly Bmth prem this season and a few Dorset prem games and what is certain is that the top two in Dorset would definitely NOT struggle in Bmth prem - not bo-l--cks. HCC and Electric, as league winners are best in their leagues - not bo-l-ocks.

Get real mate. If you read that paragraph as me suggesting it was mickey mouse you must be thick as sh*t. Understand the jist of it. An Electric player said it was beneath them, then I said even if it was Mickey Mouse they should still put out a side given the opposition, and the fact they've never played them competitively. Take the comment in the context it was written, don't just extract two words and quote them completely out of context. I am matey with big H and although they are not close mates, I know their is a lot of mutual respect between him and the Electric manager. Not sure who rockmcjocj spoke to but it would interesting to find out so could be bo-l-cks. OK. So you don't know who rockmcjock spoke to, but still post saying it's bo-l-cks. Suggest you do your homework first then before you post such passionate statements. I've reacted to the comment that the cup was beneath them, then you've butted in. Where are you comming from then?

"weekender"..it aint bollox that one of the sparkie players said it was beneath them actually his exact words were "you cant count the bankes as a serious cup"!!!!!this player is a good lad whom i have know and played with for a number of years..as i pointed out our ham rbl side is the only one to do the quadruple and the lad said i cant count the bankes cup as it "ISNT A SERIOUS CUP"...so where is your argument going now???

OK - to clear a few things up, the Bankes Cup has always been seen as a serious competition otherwise Electric would not enter it. It was not me who refeffered to the cup as Mickey Mouse (and yes smu, I must be thick as s--t because this is what you said so I assumed it was your opinion!). I know Electric saturday section with a few 'crossover' players into Electric sundays have played in the past few years. Electric scared - would not have thought so as their Sunday 1st team always enter the national Sunday fa cup and are happy to play anybody / anywhere. ROCKMCJOCK - you are right - it is not bollo--- if that is what the Electric player said but this lad has an opinion but my guess is it is not shared by all at Electric. I have no great knowledge about Electric only that I know a lad who plays for them and he is a regular in the sunday first team and he said that it is always a mix of players that enter the Bankes Cup. I honestly believe that if Electric were 'pot' hungary they could put out there strongest side from Sundays and win the Bankes Cup. That is no disrespect to HCC or any other side in the comp, just my opinion for what it is worth from someone who is thick as s--t!

I'm afraid you will have to continue to wait for Electric's full first team to play Ham Car Centre as the side for tonight's fixture will be made up of sunday reserves and Saturday first team players and this was confirmed to me by one of the spectators at electric's final on Tuesday.
I was also told that the side is run by their reserves manager who I believe is not keen on playing many of the first team players as they are tired from the fixture back log and his side are fit and able having not had a game for two weeks. I am also told that he will not be taking this fixture lightly as he wants to end his first year in charge with a trophy so I can assure you he does not think it is a mickey mouse cup.
Also, I think the same blend of players actually won this cup 2 seasons ago so it should be a decent game tonight.
I have watched Electric on a number of occassions this season and must admit that they are a young and honest side who play great football. I have been told that they beat HCC 4-0 in pre-season without a full side and have not played sandford in a couple of years. Although the last two games they have beaten them.

So there we go then! A pretty much full strength HCC lost to an Electric side last night 2 -1 and talking to a few on the line, i gather that Electric only had 3 sunday 1st team players playing. It was a good game and very tight - could have gone either way.

well what can i say whitchampton 1 ham rbl 0...if only the score line was a true statement of the match...first half it was 60-40 percent to whitchampton and they had the better chances second half it was 95-5 to legion ...what let us down was not being able to hit a barn door from 5 yards...now considering if you look at the leagues whitchampton are on paper supposed to beat us with great comfort but in truth i reckon the breathed a sigh of relief when the final whistle went...as far as im concerned the second half was the best ive seen us play in 2 seasons and i would like to congratulate the lads in the best defeat ive experience cos i think the best FOOTBALLING team lost...the best HOOFIN UP TO THE 18FT CENTRE FORWARD TEAM WON..what else can i say
