You are also missing an important point, its up to promoted teams to try and attract better players who want to play DPL football and not senior league. The problem as previously stated is not where teams finish but the gulf between the two leagues. This maybe addressed by allowing Bournemouth league teams to apply to join the DPL but they would need the appropriate facilities. No one playing at step 7 wants to play on park pitches with no facilities and if those that have the facilities do not wish to be promoted thats their decision. Pleay DPL football is not a cheap hobby.

Observation 1 - I think previously you would have been right but times have changed. Lads play where they want to at Premier and Senior standard, basically whatever is easier for them. Those that want to play higher play western and Wessex league etc. Teams should play in the DPL if they are good enough. No-one from Witchampton is going to play for Milborne are they so what chance do Milborne have if they are only able to field the same squad as last year?! The DPL have to look at their ground gradings and costings and take note that a) not all lads aged 16 to 40 want to play football on a saturday anymore, and b) costs of running a club are so high that its forcing clubs to fold. DPL used to be a very good standard but no longer. You only have to watch the standard of Western League to see that standards everywhere are dropping.

Witchamptons are much better, better pitch, better changing rooms and have a clubhouse Again very true, think that some teams could have come up and done a better job. It's not the players fault though, so no need to get on their back and give them loads as that won't help, they've been thrown in and hopefully they will come good! They're not a bunch of tosspots unlike some, just not doing well. Should change the rules though to make the league better opposed to facilities

Cranborne have nothing to be forgiven for, they fielded a team every week, unlike some teams this season and last, did their best and were just not good enough at the end of the day. What the results do show is that there is a distinct difference in terms of quality between the Senior League and the DPL, something Milborne Port have no doubt realised and will work hard to address. The standard of the officials are getting worse amd worse. I understand its a difficult job but COME ON!!! Its getting beyond the joke!! One or two mistakes fair enough but constantly getting it wrong in each game Ive been too, it needs addressing. Some of those knocking the standards of officiating have an opportunity to show they can do better in September. Not enough refs to go around so several weeks when most games don't have Assistant Refs appointed. A sign of things to come if numbers don't rise!

Is that because half of them have too go back too school. School term coming up and all that.
